Announcing the Habit Tracker Beta Release

I have been working on an end-to-end sample application for .NET… from Blazor on the frontend to MinimalApi on the backend. And, I’m ready to have some beta testers using the project – Habit Tracker app (Getting Started page). This is a full application that allows users to define categories and habits that they wish to track daily. Then it provides easy UI to track those habits and see your progress. Finally, it has several reports to see how you’re doing on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

The hardest part of starting new habits is consistently implementing those habit changes on a daily basis. This tool lets you easily do that from any device – on your laptop or your phone.

I have been tracking my daily habits on a spreadsheet for months now. I started doing it after reading Atomic Habits (great book btw). I took my learnings from that spreadsheet and added user experience enhancements to make Habit Tracker. The app may seem a bit utilitarian, so might not have all of the fancy bells and whistles, but my focus was on making it useful and fast to incorporate into your daily routine.

If you try out the application and have feedback on how to improve it, please feel free to leave your feedback here.

Since this is a complete, working end-to-end sample application, I will also be producing a tutorial blog series on how the application was built on the .NET 9 platform and hosted in Azure using free services.
